Georgia Mountain Scottish Festival & Highland Games

The Georgia Mountain Scottish Festival & Highland Games, formerly known as the Blairsville Scottish Festival, is an annual celebration of Scottish culture and heritage. In 2025, the festival will be held on June 7th and 8th at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee, Georgia, due to its growing popularity. Attendees can immerse themselves in traditional Scottish music, Highland dancing, athletic competitions such as the caber toss and hammer throw, and explore clan exhibits to learn about Scottish ancestry. The festival also features demonstrations of sheep herding, falconry, blacksmithing, and offers activities tailored for children, including face painting and interactive games. Vendors will be on-site offering Scottish wares, clothing, and cuisine, providing a comprehensive cultural experience for all ages.
