I do wish they advised about having to drive to "all" the amentities and the dates of availabilty. You have to drive to hike, the playground, water. The roadways are hilly and curvy so walking or biking is impossible. No yard for kids to play in. I also wish the dates were clear when the beach rentals start and end. Having to go to another site and dig for more details wasn't made clear.

This beautiful mountain community does not have yards for play in with the houses in a natural setting, but the community offers several play areas for children with fun things to do which can make for a memorable time. The house is exactly as pictured and described. Very comfortably fit our party of 5 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. The host was very kind, upfront about a few updates (no ping pong table), and extremely responsive (water was shut off when we arrived and they immediately came to turn it on). They also gave us a great dinner recommendation (go to Sourwood!). Location is very central and convenient to the amenities of Big Canoe, and the house has a beautiful view out the back porch.

We had a wonderful time for our family’s long weekend getaway. The house is beautiful with so much room and amazing views (spectacular sunrise!) The two porches provided coverage on the day it rained and outside fresh air on the sunshine days. I was grateful for the welcome book and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the jacuzzi! Great location! Although we had easy access if we wanted to dine out, we cooked all our meals and sat around the dining table together. The place and location is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery or hiking nearby trails or visiting the dog park, wellness center, pool or beach just a quick drive up the road. We are already planning our next visit to gather our family. Highly recommend!!!

Great location. Some visible wear and tear here and there. The clothes dryer did not work properly but we didn’t really need to use it. Someone from housekeeping came to help out and that was much appreciated. Very peaceful surroundings. Especially enjoyed the hiking trails and marina area!

House is accurate description and Mountain Home rentals was perfect on all the process and details. Close to all the amenities- there is a proper trail at the end of laurel ridge to lake dishoon. The houses are close on laure ridge but adequate privacy and fantastic sunrise view from Porch. House itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. Games provided downstairs, ping pong table and hot tub were very nice for us all.

I took my daughter and 8 friends to Sharptop for the weekend to celebrate her 18th birthday. It was perfect (except porch light was not working and we arrived after dark - but no problem really. Oh and one of the guest's names was missing from the list so caused a little delay at the gate). The home is so well stocked. Th hot tub was ready to go and was used constantly by our crowd. The house was set up perfectly for them all to separate and calm quiet down to rest at night. We loved the porches and the view was magnificent. We spent the day hiking on Saturday, using the book that the owners provided to get information about which hikes at Big Canoe would work. I actually called the front gate multiple times for directions and they were amazing also. Thank you for a restful and fun weekend! They are already planning another trip for all of us in March.

This was a perfect setup for our group of 2 families, both with small children under 2. There was plenty of space and privacy for everyone, and lots of places to relax and hang out. The house was well equipped, and for what we didn't bring from home, there was a grocery store and Ace Hardware within a quick drive from the front gate. Speaking of, the house was incredibly close to all of the Big Canoe amenities, and easy to find from the main gate. In such a big community, it was a perfect location for us and still had great views and privacy. If you want to have a fire, I recommend bringing a couple starter logs! One suggestion for the property management would be to add a few serving platters/bowls to the kitchen since we didn't find any, and perhaps some new ping pong balls (ours were all dented or flat) and beach towels for the hot tub. This house also had a regular coffee pot and Keurig (I don't recall seeing the Keurig noted on the listing, so you might want to bring coffee pods if that is your preferred way to make coffee!). Overall, it was a great stay, and we'd love to come back again in the future.

Sharp Top made our time at Big Canoe really enjoyable. My husband and I and our 3 adult children were able to have our privacy in the house, as there are spacious bedrooms and bathrooms on three levels. When we wanted to be together for games or talking, the dining and living areas, as well as the screened porches and deck, provided lots of space. Within the screened porches on the lower level are a hot tub and ping pong table. The deck on the main level has a grill and table and 4 chairs, while the main level screened porch has two comfortable chairs. The homes in the neighborhood are built on small, hillside lots so do not have areas for outside play or running about. The home was clean and well stocked with linens and towels. We were able to prepare several meals with the pots and pans and dishes available. However, there were only 4 coffee mugs. While the home is clean, be aware that since this home sits in nature, we did spot several "palmetto bugs" inside. Big Canoe offers much to do. But, after Labor Day, the beach at the nearby lake does close. However, you can still go to the marina to rent kayaks or paddleboards. We golfed and played pickelball. Look online to learn the fees for all amenities. They do add up. Hiking is free and there are many trails, including one that is about a 10 minute walk from the house at the end of the neighborhood in which the house sits. The hike to the Lower and Upper Falls is enjoyable and provides woodsy scenery. The house is very close to the tennis courts, chapel, workout center, and beach at the lake. But, since the roads are narrow and windy, so not safe for walking, you do have to drive about 3 minutes to reach those amenities. We enjoyed dinner outside at the Veranda restaurant overlooking the lake and the golf course. The view is picturesque and the food was well prepared and reasonably priced. We were happy to see that Big Canoe is taking Covid precautions and that masks are required when in public areas. All employees with whom we came in contact were masked.

The property was comfortable and spacious. It had a great layout for multiple families. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed hiking and use of the lakes. We were disappointed that we had no internet or TV upon arrival. The property management office and ISP came the next day to setup internet and Rokus which were not yet connected. This was an issue because I had work to do that night. Other than this, we had a great time.

The house was great for two families to enjoy a four day stay. Big Canoe has wonderful hiking trails and amenities as well. The house was very comfortable, well furnished and has everything you might need. The hot tub and ping pong table were a hit! The only issue we had was not receiving the check in procedures, but when I called the owner they were given by phone. We had no trouble getting into the home. I was shocked by the extra fees when booking this property, so look for that when you book on Home Away. I've booked several properties on HA and never had to pay a separate fee. Other things to consider- there is no trash pick up or can at the house. Per Big Canoe policy, you must drive your trash to the north gate which is about a 10/15 minute drive from the house. That was inconvenient, but not a huge deal. Also, if you plan to bring dogs (the house is great for pets), you should know that there is only a steep side yard at the top of the hill for them to go to the bathroom. Overall, great property and stay!
